For these series of modules the solar cells are cut in two and divided in two parallel groups. With this the internal resistance is decreased and the receptive capacity is increased.

DOUBLE GLASS MODULES

Most solar modules have glass plates on the front side, protecting the solar cells from weather influences and dirt. By placing a second glass plate at the back side, instead of the traditional foil, the life duration of the panel increases significantly.

There are double glass panels with mono- or polycrystalline cells. The EVA can be white, black or transparent and the anodized aluminium frames are black or silver colored. Frameless is also possible.

BIFACIAL MODULES

On earth, sun rays mostly come from above, under an angle. Unless you are standing on the equator, at noon. The rays are often reflected by clouds, water surfaces or buildings.
To generate electricity from rays from different angles, DMEGC Solar developed Bifacial cells. These cells are placed in transparent double glass modules.
The efficiency improvement depends strongly on the positioning of the module and the color and structure of the reflective surfaces under or near it. If these surfaces are white or have a light colour, the output will be further optimized.

Bi-facial module can be installed in:
• Flat roof installations, on a light colored or white roof, or covered with reflective foil
• Floating installations. The water will reflect much of the sun rays to the back.
• Vertical set-ups, for instance sound barriers or facades.

These installations are often realized on flat roofs or in ground installations like solar fields.

OPTIMIZERS AND MICRO INVERTERS

Most PV systems consist of a series of solar modules (a string) and one or more inverters, to convert the output of the modules to 220/230 Volts AC.
A drawback of this system is that the least performing module (possibly due to orientation, leaves or shadow) is decreasing the output of the other modules in the string. This problem can be avoided with Power Optimizers or Micro Inverters. These can be preinstalled by DMEGC solar.

Solar Edge power optimizers
Constantly track the the performance of each module and communicate performance data to the SolarEdge monitoring portal, making it possible to optimize the whole PV-system. Recommended for installations with multiple orientations, tilts and module types in the same string.

In stead of string inverters, Enphase Micro Inverters (EMI) are converting the power per module, so each module can perform at its best. EMI’s also make it possible to combine different types of modules in one system and make installation easier.
